According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an increase in overall cabinet sales of 8.3% for November 2020 compared to the same month in 2019. Custom sales were up 3.8%, semi-custom were up 6.3% and stock sales increased 10.6%.
When looking at the month-to-month comparison, cabinet sales decreased after a strong October. Overall sales were down 9.2% in November 2020 compared to October 2020. Custom sales decreased 10.5%, semi-custom sales decreased 11.2% and stock sales were down 7.6%.
Overall 2020 year-to-date cabinet sales are up 1.2% when compared to the same time period in 2019. Custom sales decreased 1.1%, semi-custom sales decreased 3.1% and stock sales increased 4.7%.
Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75 % of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than forty years.
