HIGH POINT — The Interior Design Society and Sustainable Furnishings Council have once again partnered for the Sustainable Design Designer of the Year Award and will feature a webinar to help designers prepare for submitting their projects.
The Sustainable Design Award was established to recognize designers who create high quality, environmentally conscious spaces and encourages designers to #getyourgreenon. Winning designs take into consideration the principles of social, economic and ecological sustainability ensuring that the design does not leave a negative impact on our environment.
Members of IDS and SFC are eligible to enter their projects beginning on Feb. 3, and there will be a 20% discount offered on all submissions through March 3.
In preparation for the submission period, there will be a Sustainability Essentials webinar offered to explore what sustainability issues are impacted as choices are made in furnishings. The CEU course, “What is Sustainable Furniture Anyway,” will provide key questions to ask and answers to look for as designers specify product in wood, leather, textiles, etc.
